title Balancing Word and Sacrament for the Renewal of Worship in Korean Churches: A Pastoral Model of Monthly Communion Structured by Biblical Themes
abstract This study addresses the imbalance in Korean church worship, heavily concentrated on the preached sermon (Verbum Audibile) while marginalizing the Eucharist (Verbum Visibile). To restore the organic integration of Word and Sacrament, this study proposes a '12-Month Eucharistic Worship Model' to help congregations holistically experience Christ's presence and recover dynamic faith.

Liturgically, the Eucharist is not a supplement but a 'visual gospel' sealing the Word's promise. Drawing on Alexander Schmemann's theology, the Eucharist's eschatological dimension is highlighted as a festive event anticipating God's Kingdom, transcending a mere memorial.

Consequently, four practical design principles were derived: 1) 'Renewal of the Covenant,' 2) 'Panorama of Redemptive History' across a one-year cycle, 3) 'Educational Integration' forming faith identity, and 4) 'Balance between the Visible and Audible Word.'

The proposed model organically combines monthly biblical themes(Obedience, Relationship, Salvation, Victory, Enlightenment, Community, Banquet, Transformation, Sending, Response, Consummation, Self-giving) with liturgical elements. Diversifying scripture, hymns, and the words of institution encourages active congregational response over presider-centered proclamation.

Ultimately, restoring the Eucharist transforms believers into living a 'Eucharistic Life.' This 12-month model serves as a practical guideline for Korean churches to recover incarnational spirituality through balanced worship, fulfilling their mission to witness God's Kingdom.
