The Community of Samuel from an EPIC Perspective
| abstract |
This thesis attempts to examine from EPIC's perspective the situations leading up
to the training of leaders such as Samuel in the confusion of the private era, where faith
was not passed down and the generation that God said was different. First of all, I briefly
illuminate the background of the Samuel era. Confirming that the words and ideals are a
faint generation, we list situations in which it is inevitable for a leader like Samuel to
appear, and look at the factors that Samuel can nevertheless appear. In interpreting all
these situations from the four perspectives of EPIC, the story that Samuel could
experience under the guidance of priest Eli, the story that Samuel was able to advance to
the altar of God with the devoted participation of his mother Hannah, Samuel's characters
and those who still use faith as a means ahead of Samuel's ministry, and God who gives
ability in the region of the Gentiles as we see it. And, for a long time, I saw a historian of
how God prepared the hearts of the people of Israel and a community that yearned for
God with one heart. From the point of view of all these EPICs, Samuel's circumstances
showed that God was able to become a new transitional generation by recording the
seemingly hopeless generation in the subtle relationships and situations of many
characters. In the present era in which we live, what we should think about through this
paper is that the seniors of the previous faith have inherited many legacies of good faith,
but the people who had faith in each era through generations have not been aware of it
and are in a different generation, approaching carefully whether the word of holy God has
not been diluted by being swept away by the trend of the world, and preparing for a
leader like Samuel to come to this generation in the declining church situation. Therefore,
we hope that this paper will prepare some people's minds to draw the spark of revival.
