title Crossovering Diasporic Korean Church: Recovering Church Identity through Tongdok
abstract This study identifies the situation in which immigrant Korean churches and believers are suffering from borderline conflict, division, wounds, and identity confusion. The diaspora situation has also led to a crisis situation, and this thesis recognizes the situation in which overseas Korean churches and believers, as a diaspora, are suffering. It began with concerns about how the Korean church could overcome this crisis and fulfill its mission as a pioneer of the Kingdom of God.

This thesis presents Scripture reading as a way to overcome the problems and limitations of boundaries experienced within the diaspora situation. This thesis also looked at the current situation and reality of the Korean immigrant church as a diaspora and examined the relationship between the Bible as the Word of God and the Kingdom of God as the goal pursued in the reality of living as Christians on this earth. In addition, as a specific method of reading the Bible, this study considered the need for reading the Bible in a horizon-integrating and consilient way as a method of reading the Bible to overcome the boundaries regarding method and perspective.

Not only can boundaries be overcome through "reading the whole Bible," but it has also been confirmed that the eternal and infinite kingdom of God, in which there are essentially no boundaries, is the destination that believers today should pursue through reading the Bible.

Members of overseas Korean immigrant churches live their lives of faith in the hope of comfort, help that overcome the boundaries of their fearful, and difficult reality. However, what God requires of us is a faith that goes beyond these realistic boundaries. When we show God a faith that goes beyond reality, God will give us grace, help, and miracles that go beyond reality.

However, the faith that goes beyond this reality is not in my story or our story, but in the Bible story as the original story, the story that God gives us.
