The Korean church has experienced a great revival and growth that cannot be found in the history of the world church over the past 140 years. However, since the 2000s, the overall religious power has been decreasing little by little, and among them, the proportion of composition of the young generation has been decreasing rapidly. This is because the young generation, who were born and raised in the rapidly changing trend of the times, became frustrated as they looked at the unchangeable church and the older generation. It is possible for the Korean church to bring the lost young generation back to the church. There are numerous church efforts to become a "church you want to come to."
In this paper studied ways to become a church that attracts the young generation first. Through Leonard Sweet's EPIC model, we will confirm the needs of today's young generation and present the direction for the Korean church to move forward. If the church can apply the EPIC model wisely, it will see the young generation lining up in front of the church first.
In this study, the story of Jeonju University was presented as a pastoral case applying the EPIC model. I will introduce the results of meeting 6,000 students participating in Jeonju University's chapel every week for five years.
Finally, I saw the result of Jeonju University's chapel waiting in line to come in first, not a boring time when students didn't want to come in. More than 5,000 students responded to the survey on Chapel every semester, and through Chapel, they welcomed Jesus Christ as a savior, became religious, and recorded the confessions of baptized students.
I hope that this thesis will contribute as one of the ways to help churches and pastors who are struggling with love and interest for the young generation.

한국교회는 지난 140년 동안 세계 교회 역사에서 찾아볼 수 없을 정도의 큰 부흥과 성장을 경험하였다. 그러나 2000년대 이후로 전체 교세가 조금씩 감소하고 있으며, 그 중에서 특별히 젊은 세대들의 구성 비율이 빠르게 감소하는 있는 상황을 경험하고 있다. 빠르게 변화하는 시대의 흐름 속에서 태어나고 자란 젊은 세대들이, 변화하지 못하는 교회와 기성세대의 모습을 바라보며 답답함을 느끼게 되었기 때문이다. 한국교회가 잃어버린 젊은 세대가 다시 교회로 찾아오게 하는 일은 가능하다. ‘오고 싶은 교회’가 되기 위한 수많은 교회의 노력이 있다.
본 논문에서는, 젊은 세대가 먼저 찾아 오게 하는 교회가 되기 위한 방법들을 연구하였다. 레너드 스윗의 EPIC 모델을 통해 오늘날 젊은 세대의 필요를 확인하고, 한국교회가 나아갈 방향성을 제시하려 한다. 교회가 EPIC 모델을 지혜롭게 적용할 수 있다면, 젊은 세대가 먼저 교회 앞에 줄을 서서 입장하게 되는 모습을 보게 될 것이다.
이 연구에서는 EPIC 모델을 적용한 목회 사례로 전주대학교 이야기를 제시하였다. 전주대학교 채플에 참여하는 6,000명의 학생들을 5년 동안 매주 만났던 경험을 통해 얻게 된 결과들을 소개할 것이다.
마침내 전주대학교 채플이 학생들이 들어오기 싫어했던 지루한 시간이 아니라, 먼저 들어오고 싶어서 줄을 서서 기다리게 된 결과를 보게 되었다. 매 학기 5,000명 이상의 학생들이 채플에 대한 설문조사에 응답해주었고, 채플을 통해서 예수 그리스도를 구주로 영접하게 되고, 신앙을 갖게 되고, 세례를 받은 학생들의 고백도 기록하였다.
본 논문이 젊은 세대들을 향한 사랑과 관심으로 고민하고 있는 교회와 목회자들에게 도움을 줄 수 있는 방법의 하나로 기여되기를 기대한다.
