The church has existed in various forms throughout history. In some eras, despite
the persecution and criticism of the world, the church managed to overcome it with faith.
On the contrary, when Christianity gained great political power, it suffered from
corruption and lies within the group.
What does the church look like today? Does it look like it is enduring troubled
times, waiting for that the glorious day of victory? Or does it seem like it is simply
boasting a great number of members and a huge building, but underneath the facade it is
about to crumble? What shape does God want the church to be in? I think the church
must recover the early church’s faith and sincerity.
This study is an effort to help the church find healing and revival through faith in
God from various dilemmas that it is suffering from. I have studied a 20-year old church
that has struggled with many problems over the years and have failed to deal with them
using EPIC, a recovery strategy to help repair the health of the church. I hope that this
study assists pastors and churches with the same concerns.
