titleA Study of the Kingdom of God and the Parables of Jesus in the Synoptic Gospels A Case of Bible Study of Hyunpung Church, Daegu, Korea
abstract This study explains the Kingdom of God and how we can become the people in the Kingdom of God by looking at the Kingdom of God and the parables of Jesus described in the Synoptic gospels. It illustrates how the concept of the Kingdom of God has changed throughout history, what kinds of views scholars had, what the Kingdom of God means in the parables of Jesus and who can enter the Kingdom of God which has already come to this world. It also includes a case study to find out how the proclamation of the lessons and the parables of the Kingdom of God affect the members of the church where the author of this study serves as the senior pastor.

Through this study, after learning about the Kingdom of God and how we can become the people of the Kingdom of God, the church members committed themselves to living according to the word of God. When the author first came to the church, the church members were suffering a 10-year long conflict among themselves. The number of the church members had decreased from 300 to 70 due to conflict and dispute. Since the author became the senior pastor, the sermons and bible study about the Kingdom of God has been bringing about healing and restoration of the church over the past year. The number of the church members has grown to 110. Most of the disputes have been resolved. During a permanent office election, those who used to quarrel with each other miraculously became united and prayed for each other. The author was able to realize that the parable of Jesus, "The kingdom of heaven is like" is truth. In the hope that all the churches in this world will be restored and become the Kingdom of God, the author conducted this study.
