titleEPIC Church Education Program for Postmodern Generation: A Case of Saejungang Church, Anyang, Korea
abstract The biggest crisis that Korean churches face is the fact that next generation is leaving the church. This phenomenon is caused by maintaining modernist tradition without fully diagnosing the postmodern era. Therefore, it is important for Korean churches to understand the features and values of the postmodernism and worth paying attention to the EPIC (Experience, Participation, Image-Rich, Connectivity) theory of Leonard Sweet as an alternative to the problem. In this research, the EPIC theory will be explained and applied to the cases of the theory at the Saejungang church. The postmodern generation desires Experience. They also create greater synergy in Participation. And they are more enthusiastic in real images than doctrinal frameworks. Korean churches need to deliberate on how to connect them with postmodern generation that values relations. On the basis of this understanding, this research has examined two programs that focus on Participation called "Tan's Project," a project sharing the coals of love and the "Knok Knok Show," a youth podcast broadcasting program. For the church education through Image, the Tong Bible School story is reviewed. This Tong Bible School has drawn God's Words into one big picture. And it is an excellent Bible program that shows the God's mind and the hope of the kingdom of God to be pursued by us in appropriate metaphors and symbols. Lastly, as the programs included the element of Connection, Good Character preparental Program, "Knock Knock Camp", a parents-child healing and recovery program, and "Youth Vision Campus Ministry," which connects schools and the church are studied

Throughout this research, struggles and concerns of church education which is helplessly lost in the time of change. Since situations and circumstances of each church have are different, it is difficult for all of the programs applied in this study to be successfully implemented in the local churches. However, it is believed that there is still hope in Korean churches if we respond to the challenges of the times without hesitation.
